It is a pleasure to introduce you to the terrific trio: a sibling group of one girl and two boys. They are a little shy when meeting new people, but once they warm up, they will absolutely steal your heart!
These amazing children would do well in a family who can provide structure, patience, and commitment, which they need and deserve. A family willing to cooperate with service providers and utilize suggestions from clinicians as to promote the children’s ongoing positive language and speech acquisition will be a gift to them. Visitation between the siblings and their parents is required, thus any family considering the children must be committed to coordinating and accommodating regular visits with the parents which occur in southeast Pennsylvania and be willing to maintain sibling contact with the youngest sister who resides in a separate pre-adoptive home.
The oldest, Jennifer, is a very sweet, loving, and affectionate girl who loves playing with her dolls and Hello Kitty-themed toys. She loves dressing up and looks pretty in pink, her favorite color. Her favorite television shows are “Shimmer and Shine” and “Bubble Guppies.” Jennifer is not a picky eater and pizza is the way to this girl’s heart! She and her brothers enjoy playing outdoors and riding their bikes. Jennifer is very cooperative and likes helping her brothers and foster mother. She has a grateful heart and will make you smile. Jennifer is making wonderful progress in school and has made great strides towards improving her speech and language skills. Jennifer is now completely toilet trained, of which she is very proud.
Next is Nolan, a super curious, sweet, loving boy. If you ask Nolan what his favorite toys are, he will exclaim, “Cars!” Of course, his favorite movies are Disney Pixar’s “Cars” and “Cars 2.” When not playing with cars, Nolan enjoys coloring, eating cereal, and playing with his brother and sister. Outside is his favorite place to be. Nolan does well with positive behavioral strategies that focus on his strengths and responds well to directions given in simple one- or two-step commands. He also thrives on individual attention. Nolan is making steady progress towards speech and language goals. He is beginning to express his wants and needs more effectively.
Oliver, is a wonderful, affectionate, little boy with a great smile. Oliver loves, loves, loves to eat; he loves all food and can’t just choose one favorite. Just like his brother, Oliver loves playing with cars, playing outside, chasing his siblings, and riding his tricycle. His favorite colors are green and red. Oliver loves hugs and kisses, especially when he is upset. He responds best to calm, soothing talk, being given choices, and being in a structured environment. He is able to communicate his wants and needs. He does become frustrated when he is not understood, but he is making progress toward his communication goals. Oliver is a helpful boy and is easily redirected. He responds well to patient and simple instruction.
Although Nolan and Oliver are both on the Autism spectrum, they have made steady progress in their speech and language skills with the supports that have been provided to them. Jennifer, Nolan, and Oliver are not yet legally free for adoption.
