Welcome to Camp Ninja Turtle, where our motto is “every day we have just that much more fun than the day before.” I hope you are all ready to get started, but first let me introduce you to two of our frequent campers who also happen to be brothers and will be assisting with some of your groups later this week, T’eden and Tevine.

Tevine, the older of the two is an adorable, intelligent, and active young man. He also enjoys playing games, being outside, and drawing (the perfect fit for a camper). He especially enjoys doing his school work, but don’t let that fool you, he knows how to have fun. Another fact about Tevine is he will usually want to complete his homework or school work before assisting in your groups. He is definitely a scholar in the making.

T’eden, on the other hand, is an energetic, confident, and expressive young man. He enjoys being outside playing football or basketball, maybe taking part in a card game or just having a chat. Although he can be outgoing, he does take some time to warm up to you, so don’t be alarmed if he doesn’t talk to you at first (he likes to observe his other campers). He generally is curious to know a little about you by observing before jumping in; however, will still participate in his own quiet way. One fact you should know about our two brothers is they are looking to find their forever family, a family that will love and support them on whatever journey they choose when growing up.

Oh, before I forget, introduction to becoming a ninja turtle will be held tonight in the big gym. Okay, back to the brothers:

Tevine and T’eden are searching for a family that can show them lots of love, appropriate guidance, a sense of humor, and plenty of support (can’t forget a family that likes to have fun; that’s important). The brothers would benefit from a two-parent home; however, this is not a deal breaker and they could live with a single parent should the right fit be found. Tevine and T’eden would do well with other siblings in the home as they have two other brothers themselves. It is also important to note, they wish to remain in contact with their siblings which would be beneficial for both of them as they get older.

Sorry, another announcement, capture the ninja tournament will be held at 7 instead of 6. Now…where was I? Oh, right!

The brothers would like to remain living in a city because everything is close and easy to get to; however, that is not to say they could not experience new environments. They also need a family that can provide consistent structure and demonstrate patience as they benefit from having supervision that allows the opportunity to make mistakes, while still learning. Overall, Tevine and T’eden deserve (and want) a family that will take an active role in their life and go on lots of adventures, play sports with them, and provide them with a tremendous amount of unconditional love.

“Tevine? T’eden, anything you want to add? No. Then I guess all that’s left to say is happy camping!”

Tevine and T’eden are legally free for adoption. For more information about these brothers, call the SWAN HelpLine at 1-800-585-SWAN, and have your worker reach out to their recruiter, Julianna Zimmerman at jzimmerman@choreading.org
Families must have an approved Family Profile (home study) to adopt a child. Only those families with approved profiles will be considered by the child’s caseworker in the county children and youth agency with custody of the child.
The information is given by PAE based solely on the statement of the family that they are approved to adopt. Families in Pennsylvania without an approved Family Profile are directed to contact 1-800-585-SWAN1-800-585-SWAN to pursue an agency in their geographic area. Families living outside of Pennsylvania are encouraged to work with an agency in their state to prepare the profile.
